How Handicap Works
How the handicap comes from the two team averages, which side gets it, and why it is already in a final score.

How it is worked out#
The handicap is the gap between the two team averages, given to the team with the lower average, in every game.
Handicap = (Home team avg − Away team avg) × the league's handicap % rounded to a whole number, and given to the lower-average team
Example: home 42, away 38, league at 100% → away gets +4 in each game.
Good to know
Team averages are each shooter's average rounded, then added up — see Average Calculations.
Whose average counts#
- Each shooter's current average for that week — the same T.Avg shown in Shooter Stats.
- A sub counts at the sub's own average, for the games they shoot.
- A ghosted slot counts at the rostered shooter's full average, so sitting a strong shooter cannot manufacture handicap.
Live scoring vs. entering by hand#
| How the match is scored | Handicap |
|---|---|
| Live, on the tablet | Added for you. You enter the innings as thrown. |
| By hand, from the scoresheet | Already in the scoresheet's final. Type it exactly as written. |
Tip
Entering by hand, the handicap the app works out is shown at the top, and Manual lets you set it yourself.
